In an effort to better include active members in our festivities, it was decided that the annual Birthday Luncheon be moved forward to allow our on-campus, active members, to attend prior to heading home for the summertime. In April, Delta hosted the 114th Birthday Luncheon at Vintana Wine + Dine in Escondido, CA. The Omega/San Diego Chapter put on the event.
On Saturday, April 6th, our sisterhood of lovely lavender ladies came together for the 114th birthday luncheon at Vintana Wine + Dine in San Diego (North county). This unique venue, located above a car dealership, offered a fresh design to our annual gathering. 87 Deltas were in attendance, including 21 Actives. The day’s festivities included a social hour with a get-to-know-you game, silent auction, passing of the pig to contribute money to the Delta house fund, door prize games, Executive Council update by President Liz Hind, roll call of classes, recognition of sorority leaders, Delta Woman of the Year award, named awards, Active report, Actives singing, and the centerpiece raffle. A delicious lunch was served and we were together for hours enjoying old and new friends.
It was a great day! If you missed the luncheon this year, there is always next year.
